Common owner problems and how Wevree helps
Owner problemHow Wevree helps
"No matter how well I treat my employees, it doesn't help."Wevree shows who really carries the team, from anonymous coworker ratings, so you can reward effort instead of treating everyone the same.
"I treat them well and they still quit."Good employees get recognized by the people who see their work, and they keep a record of it they own (WeResume).
"When employees fight, I can't tell who's right."Coworkers' anonymous ratings show who the team finds hard to work with, so you don't have to referee every argument.
"My employees keep quitting."You see who your best people are, from the team's view, so you know who you can't afford to lose and what's wrong before they leave.
"I can't trust my manager."The manager is just one rater among many, and is rated by the team too. You see the team's honest view beyond the manager.
"Dealing with employees is the hardest part of the business."Honest input from the whole team, a few minutes for them, no chasing for you.
"Everything falls apart when I'm not there."Coworkers rate each other, including for shifts you miss, so good work counts whether or not you're there.
"They work hard when I'm there and slack off when I'm gone."Ratings build a permanent record (WeResume), so effort no longer depends on the owner watching.

A real story

A real story from one of our clients:
Ugly Donuts & Corn Dogs.

Ugly Donuts & Corn Dogs uses Wevree in its stores. At its American Dream store, a team of ten, the owner made one rule: never say a word about anyone's scores. Here is what happened next.

Narrated by the owner of Ugly Donuts & Corn Dogs, a Wevree client, talking about his own stores.

This is a real story from one of our own stores. Ugly Donuts, American Dream. Ten people on the team. I’m the owner. We started using Wevree. And I made myself one rule: I wouldn’t say a word about anyone’s scores. Every week, each of us steps into a room called Anonymous. Nobody sees who gave what. Not me. After the first week, one of our guys saw his customer service score. A 6.67 out of 10. Nobody pulled him aside. Nobody told him to fix anything. He just started asking his coworkers, "How can I do better?" Next week, 7.75. Then a small dip, 7.13. Then 7.63. Then 8.14. Not a perfect line. A real one. In the same weeks, the whole store’s average went from 8.62 to 8.85. I never stepped in once. The team showed him the way. Wevree. Everyone sees the same thing.

"Without Wevree, it would feel like managing my staff with my eyes closed."

John Kim, CEO, Ugly Donuts & Corn Dogs

When you're not there

It works even when
you're not there.

Most teams slow down when the owner walks out. Here is why, and what changes when coworkers rate each other in Anonymous.

Read the transcript

Every owner knows this feeling. You walk out the door, and the store slows down. It’s not that people are lazy. For years, doing more than the minimum earned them nothing. Nobody saw it. Nobody remembered it. So people worked hard when the boss was watching. Now picture a store that runs the same way, whether you’re there or not. Coworkers rate each other in a room called Anonymous. That’s the heart of Wevree. Nobody can see inside. Not coworkers, not managers, not the owner. So the ratings are honest. And those honest ratings don’t disappear. They build each person’s own work record. It grows with every shift and follows them, like a credit history for the work they do. So the question changes. It’s not "Is the boss watching?" anymore. It’s "What will my team say about me?" The people watching are the ones working right next to you. People cover the shift. They help the new hire. They clean up without being asked. Not for the owner. For themselves. It all starts in a room called Anonymous. Honest ratings. A record that’s theirs. A store that works, even when you’re not there. Wevree.

Common question

What if employees team up?

Every rating happens alone, in a room called Anonymous. Nobody can see inside, not even us. So a deal to trade scores can't be checked, and honest ratings win.

Business owners ask us the same thing. What if my employees team up?

Maybe a few friends say, let’s all give each other a 10. Or, let’s all sink someone we don’t like.

Here’s the key to Wevree. A room called Anonymous. Every rating happens inside it, one person at a time. Nobody else can see in. Not coworkers, not managers, not the owner, not even us.

So a deal is just words. You promised your friend a 10. Did you? Inside Anonymous, nobody can check. And nobody can check them either.

A deal no one can check falls apart. Alone in Anonymous, each person faces one question: what really happened this week? Rating honestly is simply the best move.

And Anonymous needs at least four people taking part, so each score is an average of at least three coworkers. One vote can’t single anyone out.

Ganging up works the same way. It can’t be organized, and one grudge barely moves an honest average.

That’s the room called Anonymous. Where honesty is safe, and owners get results they can trust. Wevree.

For employees

Your effort gets seen.
Even when no one is watching.

Your coworkers know who pulls their weight.
Ratings are anonymous, so they can say it.
Every rating builds your own record, your WeResume.
It goes with you to your next job.

WeResume

A work record that comes from your coworkers

Every rating round adds to your WeResume: your averages from the people you actually work with, never who said what.

  • One record across every workplace you join on Wevree.
  • People at one job can't see your record from another. Only you see all of it.
  • Today your WeResume stays inside Wevree. Sharing it with outside employers is not available yet.

Why WeResume is different

A resume is written by the applicant. An interview shows about 30 minutes of someone on their best behavior. References are people the applicant picked. WeResume comes from the coworkers who actually worked next to the person, rating them anonymously, shift after shift.

SourceWho writes itWhat it really shows
ResumeThe applicantHow they describe themselves
InterviewThe applicant, on their best behaviorAbout 30 minutes of trying to impress
ReferencesPeople the applicant pickedUsually friends who will say good things
WeResumeReal coworkers, anonymouslyHow the person actually did the job, week after week

Because ratings are anonymous, nobody can pressure a coworker or get back at them, and the record reflects real shifts, not self-description. That makes it about as close to the truth about a worker as an owner can get. Today WeResume is seen by the worker inside Wevree; sharing it with outside employers is not available yet.

What is Wevree?

Wevree is a mobile app for US small businesses that lets coworkers rate each other from 1 to 10 on topics the owner picks. Staff complete a private step in the app called Anonymous. Nobody can see who gave which score, and the owner makes all final decisions on hiring or raises.

Quick facts

  • Works on iPhone and Android in English and Spanish.
  • Needs at least four active staff taking part in ratings.
  • Scores stay hidden until at least three coworkers rate a person.
  • Ratings build a permanent WeResume for each worker.
  • Employees never pay to use the app.

What is Wevree used for?

Wevree shows you how each employee is really doing, through the eyes of the coworkers who work next to them. Your staff rate each other anonymously on whatever matters in your business, and you see the averages.

How much does Wevree cost?

Wevree offers a 30-day free trial with no seat limit and no card. After that, it is free for up to five seats per location (the owner is not counted). Paid plans per location are $99 per month for up to 10 seats, $139 for up to 15, $159 for up to 20, $229 for up to 30, $279 for up to 40 and $329 for up to 50. Over 50, extra seats cost $3.49 each per month, added in groups of 10.

Can managers edit Wevree scores?

Nobody can edit or delete a Wevree score, and a manager rating counts as just one rating among many.

FAQ

Quick answers.

How is this different from a yearly performance review?

A yearly review is one person writing from memory. With Wevree, coworkers rate each other regularly, so by review time you already have months of averages from the people who work next to that employee. Use it alongside your own review, not instead of your judgment.

Is it really anonymous?

Yes. You see averages, never who rated or what anyone picked. A score only shows after at least 3 coworkers have rated someone, so no single answer can be traced back. Your team sees the same averages, never who gave which rating.

Won't staff gang up on someone or trade high scores?

Ratings are anonymous, so no one knows who to pressure or pay back. Scores are averaged over weeks, so one round counts for less. On a small team, one person can still move a score, so watch the trend, not a single week.

Does it fit my kind of business?

If four or more staff work together, yes. You choose the topics, so a salon, clinic, office, warehouse or tech team rates what matters there.

My team rarely works together. Does it still work?

Yes. If too few coworkers have rated someone on an item, Wevree shows "not enough data" instead of a score.

Is it an HR or legal risk?

Wevree doesn't recommend raises, hiring or firing. It's one input, and every call stays yours. Check your local rules and talk to your team before you start.

Do I need to be good with tech?

No. Pick a few topics in the app and invite your team. They use their own phones.

What if someone skips a round?

Staff may get a notice when they miss a round. After three missed rounds, which add up even if they are not in a row, that person's rating access may be paused until the owner turns it back on. Submitting four rounds in a row clears earlier misses.

What languages does it support?

English and Spanish. Each person picks their own.

What if it isn't working for us?

You stop. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel.
