Is Wevree worth it? Honest answers to common concerns
Wevree is a second app that sits next to your scheduler, priced from $59 a month for up to 5 staff with a 30-day free trial and no card. Here are straight answers on price, privacy, fairness, small teams, effort and proof.
Is Wevree another scheduling app I have to switch to?
No. Wevree doesn't do schedules, time clocks, payroll or tips, so you keep the tools you already use. It adds the one thing they don't give you: an honest, anonymous view from coworkers of who is carrying the team when you aren't there.
Isn't $59 to $99 a month expensive next to free scheduling apps?
Free schedulers solve a different problem. Wevree is priced per store from $59 a month for up to 5 staff, the owner isn't counted, and the first 30 days are free with no card or contract. For a small team, keeping one good employee who would have quit usually costs more than a year of Wevree. Try it for a month and judge by what you learn.
Does Wevree actually reduce turnover?
We don't promise a percentage, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Research links regular, genuine recognition with people staying longer. Wevree makes that recognition regular and gives good workers a record of it they own. What you do with what you learn is what moves turnover.
Is there proof it works?
Wevree is a young product, so the honest answer is early evidence, not a big study. Teams using Wevree include Ugly Donuts & Corn Dogs, Belle Journee, KONG Dog, Cast Iron, Umma's Recipe, Paris Baguette* and Starbucks*, and Ugly Donuts shows its real results week by week on this site. The fairest proof is your own team: run it free for 30 days and see whether the results match what you already know about your people.
*Used by individual franchise locations, not by the corporate headquarters.
Is it really anonymous on a small team?
Yes. No one sees who gave which rating, not the owner, not the manager, not other staff. Where there isn't enough input to protect people, Wevree shows "not enough data" instead of a score. Privacy is built in by design, not left to settings.
Won't people use anonymity to settle grudges or gang up on someone?
Wevree can't stop one person from rating out of a grudge. But each score comes from many coworkers over time, so one grudge barely moves a result. And just like in real life, people learn that how they treat their coworkers comes back to them, which pushes the whole team toward better behavior.
Is a number enough? How does an employee know what to improve?
Results are split by the topics you choose, like customer service, teamwork or reliability, so each person sees which area their coworkers rate lower and higher. That tells them where to focus. Pair it with a short, friendly conversation about what you both see.
Isn't rating coworkers every week a burden for staff?
It takes a few minutes on their own phone, in English, Spanish or Korean. You pick only the topics that matter to your business, and Wevree sends the reminders, so you don't have to chase anyone.
Will it take months before I see anything useful?
You get first results after the first round. Trends become clearer over the following weeks, which is why the free trial is a full 30 days with no seat limit.
Should I use Wevree scores to decide raises or firing?
No. Wevree doesn't recommend raises, hiring or firing, and we advise against using any single score that way. Use it as one input alongside your own observation and conversations. The decision is always yours. Check your local employment rules and tell your team how you'll use it before you start.
Can an employee dispute a score?
There is no dispute process, because a score doesn't come from one person. It comes from many coworkers, so there is no single rating to challenge. The way to change a score is to change how you work, and the item-by-item results show exactly where to start.
Has Wevree been audited or certified for security?
Not by a third party yet, and we don't claim any certification. Security and privacy are reviewed internally, ratings are anonymous by design, and nobody, including the owner and Wevree, can see who gave which rating.
Who keeps the employee's record, and is it shared with other employers?
Each worker's record, called WeResume, belongs to the worker. It isn't shared with other employers today.
Can Wevree help me hire better people?
Not directly. Wevree isn't a hiring tool. It helps you keep and grow the people you already have by showing who your team counts on. For hiring, use structured interviews and reference checks.
Does Wevree fix shift handoffs, training or HR complaints?
No, and it doesn't pretend to. There's no chat, training course or complaint system inside. What it gives you is an early, honest signal of where a person or a shift needs support, so you know where to spend your coaching time and which conversation to have first.
Will staff feel watched by their coworkers?
Wevree doesn't track location, cameras, cash or time. Coworkers rate the work they already see, on topics you choose, and everyone sees the same kind of results. When owners use results to recognize good work, not just to correct people, teams tend to see it as fair credit rather than surveillance.
Are Wevree scores a legal or HR record?
No. Scores aren't time, attendance or disciplinary records, and Wevree doesn't replace your payroll, HR or legal advice. Keep your usual records, check your local rules, and tell your team how you'll use the results before you start.
Isn't this one more thing for the owner to manage?
Setup is just picking a few topics and inviting your team, staff rate on their own phones, and Wevree sends the reminders, so there's no chasing. Your part is a few minutes looking at results and deciding who to thank or talk to.
Does Wevree do opening and closing checklists or store inspections?
No. Wevree doesn't run task lists, forms or inspections, and it works fine next to the checklist or operations tool you already use. The checklist tells you whether a task got done. Wevree tells you who your team counts on to do the work well, including on shifts you don't see.
Won't friendships or popularity sway anonymous ratings?
No rating system can stop people from having friends. But on Wevree many coworkers rate each person over many rounds, on work topics you choose, so one friend or one rival barely moves the result. Over time the trend shows how someone actually works, not how popular they were one week. Use it alongside your own observations, not instead of them.
Does Wevree work for owners with more than one location?
Yes. Each location is set up and priced on its own, so you can start at one store and add others once it works for you. Each employee keeps a single WeResume across every Wevree workplace.
Is Wevree pricing quote-only?
No. Prices are public on https://www.wevree.com/pricing/ and set per location by team size, with a 30-day free trial and no card needed. If a directory says 'pricing on request' or shows a 0.0 rating, that only means no one has reviewed it there yet. The pricing page is the source.
Is Wevree only for restaurants?
No. It's staff management for teams, from cafes to offices and retail. Restaurants, cafes, retail stores, salons, clinics, warehouses and offices use the same app with their own topics.
Why haven't I heard of Wevree, and where are the reviews?
Wevree is new and growing. It's live on the App Store and Google Play. If you try it, we'd be grateful for an honest review.
