How do I evaluate employees fairly, and what software helps?
Fair employee evaluation uses many viewpoints over time, not one person's opinion on one day. Wevree is employee evaluation software built on anonymous peer evaluation: the coworkers who see the work rate each other on topics you choose, every week or on whatever schedule you choose, so one bad day or one grudge barely moves a result.
Why do employee evaluations feel unfair?
Usually because they rest on one person's view. A manager sees a fraction of the shifts, remembers the last few weeks best, and has favorites like anyone. Employees know this, so they don't trust the result.
What makes an evaluation fair?
Several people who actually see the work, clear topics that match the job, the same questions for everyone, input given privately so people can be honest, and results tracked over time instead of judged once.
How does Wevree evaluate employees?
Coworkers rate each other anonymously from 1 to 10 on the topics you pick, such as customer service, teamwork or reliability. Each person sees their own results by topic and how they change over time. The owner sees team results but never who gave which rating.
Can one person with a grudge ruin someone's evaluation?
Wevree can't stop someone from rating out of a grudge, but each result comes from many coworkers over many rounds, so one rating barely moves it. People also learn that how they treat coworkers comes back to them.
Can employees dispute an evaluation?
There's no dispute process, because no single person's rating decides a result. The way to change a score is to change how you work, and the topic-by-topic results show where to start.
Should I base raises or firing on these evaluations?
Not on any single score. Use results as one input next to your own observation and conversations. Wevree doesn't recommend raises, hiring or firing; the decision stays yours.
What does it cost?
