Wevree vs 7shifts: scheduling your staff vs knowing who's good

By the Wevree team · Updated October 30, 2026

Short answer: 7shifts is a restaurant team platform for hiring, training, scheduling, time clocking, labor compliance, payroll, tip management and team communication. Wevree does one narrower job: coworkers rate each other anonymously every Round, so the owner sees who really carries the team. They answer different questions, and many restaurants could use both.

The question each tool answers

A schedule tells you someone showed up. It doesn't tell you whether they carried the rush. Owners usually hear that from a manager, and managers see some shifts, not all of them.

How 7shifts looks at performance

7shifts does have performance tools. Its Engage dashboard pulls data from the schedule, time clock and shift pool, and shows shift feedback scores, lates, no-shows, dropped shifts, shift bids and reliability rankings. With shift feedback, employees rate their own shift after it ends, and managers can add performance notes and give shout-outs. 7shifts says Engage needs 7punches or a supported POS labor integration (7shifts Engage, 7shifts performance).

So 7shifts measures reliability and how employees feel about their shifts. Wevree measures something else: how coworkers rate each person's work on the Topics the owner picks.

Where 7shifts is the better choice

If your problem is scheduling, labor cost, tip pooling or payroll, choose 7shifts or a similar suite. Wevree doesn't do scheduling, time clocks or payroll.

Where Wevree fits

If your problem is "I can't tell who's really good," "my best people quit quietly" or "I only hear my manager's side," that is the job Wevree is built for.

At one store using Wevree with about 30 staff, departures went from 2-3 people a month to about 1 every 3 months.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Wevree and 7shifts together?

Yes. They do different jobs: 7shifts runs schedules, time and pay, and Wevree shows how coworkers rate each other's work.

Does 7shifts have performance tracking?

Yes. 7shifts Engage tracks attendance, reliability and shift feedback, where employees rate their own shift, and managers can add notes. It is not built around anonymous coworker ratings of each person.

Is the rating in Wevree really anonymous?

Yes. Nobody can see who gave which score, including the owner and Wevree. Only averages are shown. Rule: 4 or more staff, each result needs at least 3 coworker ratings.

Will staff gang up on someone?

No single score can be traced, and each result needs at least 3 coworker ratings, so one grudge does not decide a result. The owner still makes the call.
